marimekko + kate spade bridal shower | featured on 100 layer cake

hannah shih

Isn't February is just the cutest month ever?

Since we're just T-minus two days away from Valentine's Day, we wanted to share our latest work which was just featured on 100 Layer Cake. Inspired by the fun + bold patterns of Marimekko and the feminine + bright colors of Kate Spade, feast your eyes on these hands-down gorgeous photos by Charlie Juliet!

ICI Restaurant is an awesome venue in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. They have such a stunning space with incredible lighting -- the perfect setting for our pink madness, graphic b+w patterns and splashes of gold! We collaborated with Christina D’Asaro Design on the paper goods, aren't they adorable??

Sissi Chan did an awesome job with the ladies' hair + make-up, they all look so darn beautiful! And the pretty cakes were designed by the lovely Betsy of Nine Cakes!

We used a mixed of white spray roses, pink garden roses and hot pink ranunculus for the arrangements. We wanted the pinks to pop off the walls, and indeed they did! Oh and who can resist those darling fortune cookies?

We love all things beautiful, bold and bright and hope our little shoot has inspired you with fun ideas for your bridal shower, engagement or even birthday party! Perhaps even a Valentine's celebration with your best gals?

holiday tablescape mini-series | vol 01

hannah shih

Happy Holidays, ya'll! Hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving!

We've been so crazy the past few months working on some fun new projects, one of which includes styling a series of holiday tablescapes! We had a blast collaborating with CJ of Charlie Juliet Photography, and we're so excited to share a sneak peek of our first tablescape design in the mini-series.

For this tablescape, we were inspired to do a traditional take on the holidays but with a modern and cozy twist! We arranged ranunculus, anenomes and eucalyptus together to give off a pop of the traditional red, white and green holiday colors. With the white pillars and sprinkling of pinecones all on top of a knitted throw, we have ourselves an intimate yet stylish holiday look!

Stay tuned as we'll share a sneak peek of our next holiday tablescape design on Friday!

thrift'n on a thursday | vol 40

Happy Thursday! Check out these clear bud vases we found for today's thrift find! Don't they look so lovely with the roses?

We think these cuties are actually mini perfume bottles, but since we found them topless ... they are just as cute as little vases. We adore the tulip detail, so unique and perfect for Spring! For only 50 cents each, I think we got ourselves quite the deal, don't you think??

a 70th birthday soirée

hannah shih

Last month, the Chiou Family contacted us to see if we could design + style a birthday brunch for their mom's 70th. With it being a SURPRISE and such a milestone of a birthday, we were so excited to take part!

From chatting with the family, we learned that Mrs. Chiou (aka Meishan) is fun, super sweet and a ball of energy. Malachy, her 6-year-old grandson, requested to incorporate the colors gold + turquoise (oh, so perfect!). We were inspired to put together a concept that was bold, whimsical and had some fun personal touches.

For the flowers, we went with a mix of whites + greens including hydrangeas, tulips, hyacinths and baby's breath. We wanted to keep the color story simple and let the gold and turquoise really pop! We had fun crafting the details -- the garland, the drink mixers, as well as the favors. We hand painted the gold polka dots on the hearts and then painted little pasta letters to spell out each of the guests' names. Mrs. Chiou was not only pleasantly surprised, but she kept tearing up throughout the day because she was so touched!

A thousand thanks to the Chiou Family for having us! So happy to have made your mom's 70th birthday a memorable day for everyone involved!
